Chapter 281: Dainty
Sesshoumaru had no idea what Kagome might entrust to his keeping.
From a zippered pouch on the side of her pack, she produced a book. He’d seen it, of course. She never neglected it for long, and he did wonder why. But a dainty lock secured its contents. Was this a test?
“It is safe with me.”
She searched his face, looking for something more.
Had he misunderstood? And then it hit him.
Hold onto it, she’d said. Until I come home.
To here.
To him.
Kagome had been looking forward.
Already, she understood her place was here.
With him.

😭🤧 the abandonment issues hit hard, but Kagome is always one step ahead, what a queen. Kagome saying goodbye to her family always makes me so sad, but at least she’ll have her friends and Sesshoumaru 🥲❤️ lovely as always, you brighten my inbox every time

Why do I feel like the well is going to close and he’s going to have to wait 500 years to return it to her 😭😭

You know, I have the exact same feeling! I thought this couldn’t get more angsty. I really hope we are both wrong.

Same feeling here, I’m gonna be sad. The scenarios where they have to wait so long to see each other again always hit me in the feelings. 😦

Oh, that’s so wonderful. She’s an old soul for all her young years. I hope she’s back soon for his sake and the well plays no tricks.
