Chapter 281: Dainty

Sesshoumaru had no idea what Kagome might entrust to his keeping.

From a zippered pouch on the side of her pack, she produced a book. He’d seen it, of course. She never neglected it for long, and he did wonder why. But a dainty lock secured its contents. Was this a test?

“It is safe with me.”

She searched his face, looking for something more.

Had he misunderstood? And then it hit him.

Hold onto it, she’d said. Until I come home.

To here.

To him.

Kagome had been looking forward.

Already, she understood her place was here.

With him.

  2. 😭🤧 the abandonment issues hit hard, but Kagome is always one step ahead, what a queen. Kagome saying goodbye to her family always makes me so sad, but at least she’ll have her friends and Sesshoumaru 🥲❤️ lovely as always, you brighten my inbox every time
