LMM 335: Wooing the Scholar

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the well-read one.

Wooing the Scholar

When Jacques returned to Lapis’ side, Catalan was still hard at work, wooing the exhausted dragon. But Lapis immediately reached for Jacques and clung peevishly to his favorite.

“Come, my lovely,” Jacques soothed. “Canarian’s technique is magnifique.”

Hisoka casually remarked, “Fortunate is the dragon who coils with cats.”

Lapis managed to look scandalized. “That is not how the saying goes!”

But he gave in, which led to an excess of kneading, purring, and drowsy fluting.

Tucked snugly between Canarian and Jacques, Lapis mumbled, “This is entirely unfair.”

Non, my friend.” Jacques kissed his brow. “All’s fair in love and war.”
