Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the look-inspiring one.

Animal Husbandry
“I trust you,” Nonny forced a leaky laugh. “It’s knives I don’t.”
Ginkgo said, “Maybe explain things to me, first, Jacques. Ideally, without the knife in your hand.”
He immediately surrendered the blade.
Ginkgo pocketed it. “So! Should I be shocked that our uppity lordling knows animal husbandry?”
“Oooh, my stable boy fantasies were definitely tarnished by the muck and musk. But I found I liked animals. And the lusty looks a snug pair of breeches could inspire.”
Ginkgo chuckled. “Not surprised on either score.”
“I’m not an animal,” protested Nonny.
“Non.” Jacques tapped his knee. “These aren’t goat’s legs.”

Still reading (savouring!) Fumiko, but I love the added depth that having LMM gives to Fumiko and vice versa ❤️
