LMM 300: Scritchies

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one whose faith moves mountains.

Just when Jacques’ knees were beginning to protest, a rougher hand tousled his hair. He lifted his face to find Ginkgo smiling at him from across Tsumiko’s lap.

“Hey. I thought I was the only one who came here for scritchies.”

“That’s the stuff,” Ginkgo sighed. “So, Jacques. You seem in low spirits.”

“Good of you to notice.”

“Want to get out of here for a bit?”

Jacques made a face. “I’m terribly busy. Let me mope in peace.”

“Ah-ah! Gonna have to insist,” Ginkgo countered. “Your lord and master has summoned you.”

  2. Sometimes I think back to the Jacques of book 1 and it’s kinda incredible the metamorphosis he’s gone through. He’s still him, of course, but so, so much more!
