LMM 280: Winter Picnic

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one doing menial things.

Winter Picnic

Jacques decided that cooking wasn’t his thing. Menial. Messy. But even though others offered to take his place, he stubbornly stayed at Argent’s side.

Sonnet and the cranes fried fish from the icy creek. Argent wielded chopsticks with expertise, turning tempura. Pumpkin slices and apple rounds sizzled in oil.

“You’re good at this,” Jacques remarked.

“Experience.”

“You had to cook for… your people?”

Argent favored him with a sidelong look. “Who do you think feeds your pastry addiction?”

Their crossers gathered, sharing the impromptu picnic, which did double as Sonnet’s welcoming feast.

“Should I go back? Check?” Jacques offered.

“Do.”

  2. I think Argentlikes cooking. Not just for Jacques. Argent is a provider 🥰 though I’m sure he’d have an eminently logical explanation for it 😊

  3. Of course he cooked…that’s a nice bit that he makes pastries, not just for Jacques, but the whole crew. I definitely think Sansa is going to need a few extra hands. Stately House is filling up.
