“Do we know how old you are?”
Nonny shrugged. “I’m about Gilen’s size. He’s nine.”
Jacques cautiously suggested, “You’re probably older. Goat clan runs small.
“You calling me puny?”
“More like… mature. Argent clearly thinks you’re ready for new responsibilities.”
“You allowed to use his first name like that?”
“Only behind his back.”
Nonny’s grin was the conspiratorial sort.
Jacques pointed between them. “You really want to work with me?”
“If certain conditions are met,” he replied loftily.
“Right, then. Let’s hear it.”
Nonny kicked up his hooves, then clacked them together. “How come you only invite Gilen for baths?”
