Jacques could have verbally dismantled the administrator, but to what end? These days, his authority had nothing to do with the lords in his ancestry… and everything to do with the lord he served. Jacques cast aside weapons gone rusty with disuse in favor of fresher inheritances.

From Michael, an unwavering optimism.

From Argent, the longest of long views.

This kerfuffle wouldn’t be a waste of time if Isla learned something. So Jacques opened the nearest window and decorously propped his hip against the sill. “I say! Where’s a Skybellow when you need one?”
