Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s in training.

Getting In
“Describe any changes,” Hisoka repeated. “Have I harmed you?”
“Never better. Let me enjoy the view while it lasts.”
“Ah. Ephemera?”
Jacques pointed. “Argent keeps those. Are yours tame?”
“I had not realized they were getting in.”
“Beneath notice. Or above, in their case.” Jacques felt sorry for them.
“You have a fondness for midivar?”
“They’re part of my training. The more I handle them, the more I notice them on my own.”
“How do you feel?”
“Detached.” Jacques frowned. “Relocated? And still alone.”
Hisoka hummed. “Do you have an ideal outcome, Jacques?”
“Can you turn me into a reaver?”

Awe, Jacques. *Hugs*
I so picture him as a thinner, more tailored (less casual), French version of David from Schitts Creek. Maybe lighter hair. But just as willing to speak his mind and trustworthy.

Jacques so wants to belong! I hope he realizes soon that he does belong and he is loved. It can be hard for someone who feels like an outsider to trust in others actions and affections. Sweet boy you are family.

If that was possible, Akira would be one. I’ll like to think the ‘hidden egg idea’ might be an alternative route to increase his life expentacy as well,

Sigh…he’s still not feeling useful?! He has managed to become an essential family member. He is needed and loved. ❤️

“And still alone.” Poor Jacques 😦 He wants so much to be more than he is, not realising how much he’s loved already – I mean, three of the most powerful Amaranthine are trying to help him, the first of Wards too.
Loving this story so much! Monday’s and Thursdays are my official favourite days!
