LMM 193: Little Tracker

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s had time to build up his tolerance.

New Saga High School wasn’t ready for students, but neither was it a construction site. The only workers Jacques spotted in the building were gardeners tending to the veritable arboretum in the student center.

Ever’s tail wagged higher. A promising sign that success was near.

“See him?” asked Jacques.

The boy’s face scrunched up. “Smell him.”

How very canine. Helpful, though. Jacques might be immune to most dragon wiles, but camouflage was another matter. “Where did you go?” he grumbled.

“Here,” chirped a small voice just above.

Kyrie balanced upon a slender branch. Hidden in plain sight. And inexplicably naked.
