Gilen bounded toward the driftwood pile, footloose and fancy-free and shouting in French, but Nonny’s hooves gave him trouble. He wallowed in the sand until Timur lent him an arm, leading him closer to the water, where he’d find firmer footing.
Raife of the unfortunate hair seemed wary about the dress code. Smart lad.
Jacques indicated the pile of fundoshi and urged, “Pick a color!”
While Gingko and Suuzu helped the boys change for swimming, Jacques turned to Deece. For once, Stately House’s bodyguard spoke first.
“Argent said you asked for them.” Deece was practically purring with approval. “Thank you.”
