Sesshoumaru needed to check something, so he watched for his opportunity. As usual, evening brought Kohaku to his side. In an attempt to replicate the circumstances of his encounter with the miko, he grabbed the boy’s ponytail.
“Sesshoumaru-sama?”
“Hold still.” He inhaled deeply. Sifting through sense and scents and… feelings.
The boy didn’t shrink from him. That much was the same, but the nuances were entirely different. Not displeasing, but not particularly alluring.
Settled. Steady. Trustworthy.
“It is different.”
“From…?”
“The miko.”
Kohaku smiled. “I should hope so.”
“Hnn.”
The boy quietly asked, “Will you tell me about your wish?”
