Finding the Words. Let’s do another challenge that will help create buzz for Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. There’s already a Photo Challenge underway (ends 5/22), and I’m loving the entries that have already turned up. This time, let’s focus on reviews. They’re a practical necessity for any author and quite possibly the BEST way any reader can lend their support.

Guidelines. Let’s keep this as straightforward as possible. Review Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox, and you’ll be entered into a drawing. Continue reading
There’s been a small clamor for story art for Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox, so I’ve been working behind the scenes with FoxOfTwilight to create a series of cast portraits. We’ll start with the main characters, and over the weeks ahead, we’ll add to the collection. Beginning with the title character—Tsumiko Hajime.
Prepping Another Batch. I can hardly believe that nearly all the books I ordered from the printer (with my super-seekurt author powers) are already spoken for, but… they are. SO! If you’ve been considering purchasing a signed book from me, I have 3 copies 2 copies 1 copy still up for grabs. First come, first served you juuust missed this round, but you can hop onto a waiting list for the next batch. And you can of course still purchase personalized, numbered book plates for books ordered elsewhere. (Or for your scrapbook, as some have done!) ::twinkle::

Since they keep flying out of here, I do have more books on order. But I think (really, really hope) Amazon will fill outstanding orders before those arrive. (My poor, poor sales stats.) I will keep you posted.
The books I shipped out a week ago have begun arriving at their destinations, and that means snapshots for the Photo Challenge. Here’s Jelena’s entry!

Keep them coming! The challenge has been extended until 4/22, so you have plenty of time to enter. More details here >>
Quick Update: inquiries through proper channels have come up with a baffling response from my printer. The only reason for Amazon’s delay in fulfilling your pre-orders is… Amazon. We’re at their whim and mercy, I’m afraid. Thank you for your continued patience. Their delay has me rejigging my schedule for our fun and games. And I’m issuing an extension for the Photo Challenge.

More time to get creative! I’ve extended the Photo Challenge by another month, so you have until April 22, 2018 to take part. All the details here >>
Lots of YAYZ! I’m already seeing the beginnings of a trickle of fanart for Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox, which I most definitely WILL want to share here … but not until more of you have received your copies of the book. (Keeping this blog as spoiler-free as possible.) In the meantime, I just received this from Fox, the artist responsible for my profile picture.

I’m off to the post office with a tidy stack of books. Those of you who splurged on an autographed copy will only need a teensy bit more patience. Media Mail can take 7-10 days.

Bookplates are also ready, but I’m holding onto the current batch because they contain a surprise/spoiler about Book 2 … and most of you haven’t yet received Book 1. ::impatient harrumph:: Do you want a bookplate, too? Info is on this post >>
By the way, you totally cleared out my stash of print editions, but I’ve ordered more. I’ll let you know once those become available.

When your books finally arrive, be sure to have a camera ready. My Photo Challenge is in force until 3/22/18. Get creative and grab some fun snapshots of Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. (And be entered in a drawing for fabulous prizes!)
Goodies arrived! If you have been considering getting a signed bookplate for your copy of Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox, I can now show you what they look like! Continue reading

“RELEASE!” – courtesy of Card Captor Sakura
Celebrating a Book Release. I have no idea how long it will take virtual bookstores to fulfill your pre-orders, but if you absolutely cannot wait for the print editions to reach you, I am pleased to announce that the Kindle edition is LIVE on Amazon! Start reading now >>
I want to establish this for any of you who might like an outlet for your enthusiasm while you read Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. You can review every chapter (doin’ it fandom-style) or toss us a fly-by ::glompthrottlegush:: as necessary. I’ll “like” (probably more like love) all your reactions, but I’ll withhold comments for now. I’ll host an Author’s Q&A eventually, after more of you have had a chance to read the book.
So this is fair warning. Comments on this post’s thread may contain SPOILERS.
Cameras Ready?! The best way to create buzz about a book release is to get readers involved. I have a few challenges lined up, and the first is simple. Take pictures for me! Snap a picture of Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox when it arrives. Prop it up in your favorite reading spot. Snag a book-sniffing selfie. Showcase it with other blue books … with props from the story … with your mug of tea … with your pets … with your plushies … with character doodles … with a bowl of ramen. Get creative. Be enthusiastic. Impress me. Be elegant or silly. Make me smile. Because there will be fabulous prizes. Continue reading

I have chatted with the Powers That Be and learned why Amazon hasn’t yet listed the digital edition of Tsumiko and the Enslaved Fox. I won’t bore you with all the rules, regulations, and red tape. Not to mention… addendums. ::shudder::
Long story short, the ebook WILL be available (internationally) from Amazon on Release Day (2/22), but it will not be available for pre-order. On behalf of everyone at Twinkle Press, we apologize for any inconvenience or diminished enthusiasm.
Autographed Copies. A handful of you are requesting signed books, no small feat for an author working behind a pseudonym. But after mulling over my options, I can offer you two. 1) A signed bookplate can be yours at minimal cost, or 2) if you want an actual book that I have actually touched and personalized, the cost will vary depending on your country of origin. (International shipping can be steep!)
First off, a peek at the print edition’s flyleaf and built-in bookplate. (Because forthy really does plan ahead.) Continue reading
