Lunar New Year

Patreon Perk. As I mentioned in this post, I’m readying a special mailing for qualifying patrons because the Emergence (in the Amaranthine Saga) coincides with the Lunar New Year. So it’s an annual treat! Those who join at the appropriate tiers during the month of February will receive a red envelope & lucky coins. (Reminder: those at the Twinkle tier need to request the mailing! Automatic inclusion begins at the Sparkle tier.) Thanks, as always, for your support here, there, and wherever you find my stories!

Cover Reveal

Kimiko and the Cycle of Moons (Amaranthine Interludes, #2). To help celebrate the Lunar New Year, which coincides with the Emergence in the Amaranthine Saga, I’m unveiling the official book cover for the upcoming serial, Kimiko and the Cycle of Moons, which will be told over on my Patreon once we reach the Community Goal of 400 supporters. It will be available to those pledging $4/month or more. That’s the Twinkle tier! ::twinkle::

“Loosely based on the old Amaranthine tale, ‘The Wolf and the Moon Maiden,’ this serial will involve three sisters, twelve pledges, and the long-awaited stirring of a sleeping landmark.“

When does the story take place?
Kimiko and the Cycle of Moons picks up where Kimiko and the Accidental Proposal leaves off, following the entirety of Quen & Kimi’s courtship.

So just the kisses?
No, no. The whole Miyabe family gets involved, and stuff’s definitely happening in the vicinity of Kikusawa Shrine … AND at the Starmark compound … AND at New Saga High School. I can promise lots of familiar faces and a few hoped-for answers to longstanding questions. ::twinkle::

How long before the story kicks off?
That’s up to you guys, really. My community goal is 400 patrons, and as of this posting, we’re sitting at 159 … which is aaalmost 40%. So it may take a little time. Or it could go lickity-split. Thanks to everyone who’s excited for more Kimi/Quen moments.

Lunar New Year

Patreon Tradition. For the second year in a row, I’ll be prepping a special Lunar New Year mailing, with red envelopes and lucky coins. This is a Patreon exclusive, available to folks starting at the Twinkle tier ($4/month) … and goes out automatically to those who are at the Sparkle tier ($14/month) right on up through Dazzle, Beacon, and Reliquary tiers. ::twinkle::

In the Amaranthine Saga, the Emergence was timed to coincide with the Lunar New Year. (Yes, wolves were definitely involved in that decision.) This is a simple way for me to celebrate the anniversary with you. It’s an international event, after all.

Consider joining the ranks of supporters. Exclusive stories, courting gifts, art cards, story snippets, first peeks, and real mail. You can read about other perks over here >>

Patchy Updates

Not Exactly Lulling. I received several nudges last week, reminding me that I missed updates on some of my stories. This happens periodically, and it’s nothing to worry about. I usually try to “write ahead” so I can post chapters regularly, but I’ve caught up to myself. No reserves. And rather busy with Bk6 at the moment. Also I tend to pile a lot into November (word sprints, festive plans, seasonal mailings, extra shopping, family stuff) so I can take it easy in December. Which means … patchy updates for a while.

Speaking of seasonal mailings, I’ve revealed the Quarterly Art Card for December over on Patreon. This winter scene will round out a collection of four commissions by Lara Pickle for the first four short stories in Songs of the Amaranthine. “The Dark” features a moment in Marked by Stars, and it turned out very pretty, since it’s printed on pearlescent paper. (The snow & sky, they shine!)

If you want to get in on these quarterly mailings (and so many other perks), check out my Patreon, where I appreciate my supporters & try to keep things interesting. ::twinkle::
