Meeting Sadness

Narrated Edition. Bard and Barbarian has been posting slow and steady over on my Patreon account. Reading along is great, but supporters on some tiers can now listen along. The story is being narrated by Travis Baldree. Ch69, “Toll” just went live for those in qualifying tiers. AND Ch65, “Floundering” has unlocked for the Twinkle and Sparkle tiers.

New narrated chapters will (usually) arrive every other Wednesday, which means … there’s always something more to look forward to! Learn more about my Patreon here >>

Sudden Clarity
Rhomiko and the Confirmed Bachelor. If you need a place to react, confer, or kick up a fuss, this is the spot. I’ll enjoy your enthusiasm, I might be willing to clarify small points, but I reserve the right to evade questions that will be answered in other places. (Yes, there are still other places. Bear with me.) ::twinkle::
[[[WARNING: HERE THERE BE SPOILERS]]]
Rhomiko and the Confirmed Bachelor. We’re here at long last! The final book in the Amaranthine Saga is complete, and the files have been uploaded. We’re simply waiting for it to go LIVE. Thank you to all of you who’ve been patiently (and impatiently) awaiting the conclusion of the main series.
Release Day • May 22, 2024

One bachelor is love-shy. One is unrequited. One is much-loved. One is blindsided.
::twinkle::As in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). Rhomiko is ready. I’ve been on a strict final read-though schedule all week, and I left the little finesses until today (title page, table of contents, etc.) Plenty of time to hit my upload deadline. Except. Not …? Because I was meant to be operating on GMT, which has somehow never come up before. Anyhow, I missed the upload deadline by several time zones.
What does this *mean*, 4thy?!
Amazon will cancel the book. And anyone who pre-ordered will probably get some kind of notice to that effect.
So is the book delayed?
Nope. Still planning to publish on the 22nd. But I’ll have to set up the title again and click publish on the 22nd. Manually. It’ll release (sorta) immediately.
So this isn’t the end of the world?
Nah. Just really embarrassing. It’ll be okay.
Here’s a teaser for your trouble:

Who remembers Anjou? ::twinkle::
::twinkle::As soon as I have news about the release of Rhomiko and the Confirmed Bachelor, I’ll share it. Patrons get little tidbits, of course. Teasers and whatnot. I’ll finalize the release date and direct you to pre-orders … soon. I’m still hoping for May, but due to little interruptions, it could push to June. Which is why there’s really no news yet. Just … “soon.”

Releasing This Month. I received word back from the publisher that the second book in the Amaranthine Saga will release in May. The cover features Eloquence Starmark (he is totally blushing over this depiction), and patrons will soon be receiving art cards to celebrate the publication!

Finishing Touches. Many of you have been messaging me about Coop’s serial, which hasn’t been updating according to the usual schedule. This happens whenever I’m embroiled in the final phases of a book. Rhomiko and the Confirmed Bachelor is nearly done, so I’ve been hyper-focused. All I can do is beg patience. Coop will be back when I can switch gears without derailing higher priorities.
And hey, thanks! I’m so glad to know you’re enjoying Coop and the Elderbough Trackers! That’s encouraging.

Chapter 6, “House and Home” is live over on Patreon! Subscription to this story is one of the perks that starts at the Twinkle tier ($4/month). Thanks to those who’ve chosen to read along! I’m grateful.

“Such a Gentleman” is featured on the art cards going out to patrons for the regularly scheduled monthly mailing. And for the equinox, the quarterly art card will include lettering of a favorite moment from Mikoto and the Reaver Village (Amaranthine Saga, Bk4). I’ll post pictures of those when they come from the printer. ::twinkle::

Many thanks to all those who are supporting my stories, wherever they may be found!
Congrats, Lara! I happened to stumble across an upcoming graphic novel release last week, just in time to get my pre-order in. What caught my eye? The author/illustrator is Lara Pickle, who was charming to work with a few years back, when I commissioned celebratory art to use as art cards for the first four stories in the Songs of the Amaranthine series.

The four Songs illustrations (these are obviously just close crops) were titled The Dance, The Dark, The Den, and The Drama … and early patrons received these as art cards. Recognize these cast members? They’re all still figuring prominently in current storylines!

Lara’s graphic novel is a brand new release. I received my copy yesterday. Join me in celebrating her success … and if you’re interested, be sure to pick up her book. :: confetti toss ::
