LMM 601: Sort it Out

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. The fox was in front of him in a wink, frowning. “Jackie…?”

“Please, don’t ask.”

“You cannot hide anything from me.”

“Then you don’t need to ask. You’ll sort it out.”

Argent let him go.

In the kitchen, Ginkgo helped him load trays.

Feeling the half-fox’s gaze, Jacques stiffly inquired, “Something to say?”

“Nah. Words never help.” And he just… gave his back a single pat.

Jacques’ lips trembled, but he firmed the line, stacked his share of the trays, and followed the half-fox upstairs.
