Fitting Pastime

“On the sly, as it were,” continued the man. “Best not to rile the wolves with what amounts to a friendly game.”

Jacques considered the unmarked alley door. It offered no hints to what lay beyond, but he was curious what Argent had deemed appropriate for his looking after.

Mounting the stairs, he lightly asked, “You have plans for me?”

“Several!” A speculative gaze swept Jacques from head to toe, and light fingers tested the silk of his scarf. Up on tiptoe, eyes fairly sparkling, he happily revealed, “Tyrone Sunfletch. We’re tailors, my brothers and I. Care for a fitting?”
