Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the good boy.

Fancy
Jacques didn’t even care that somewhere across the world, Sonnet was currently wearing shoes. He’d happily steal them in a capricious reversal of the Cinderella story, then lure him into some quiet corner. Or better yet a snug den.
Caught up in wolf-inspired fantasies, Jacques nearly missed his squirrel.
Jacques strolled over and took several moments to enjoy Kip’s perusal… and bewilderment. Good boys were so much fun to tease.
Only once understanding dawned did he say, “Found you.”
“Aren’t you supposed to be in Japan?”
Deep down, Jacques agreed. But he played his part. “His lordship fancied a trip.”
