Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who can posture.

Loaded Question
Jacques patiently repeated, “For the children.”
“Not for yourself?”
Jacques was taken aback. “What gave you that idea?”
Sinder raised a finger but hesitated. “I don’t think I can answer that without insulting one of you. Or both of you.”
“I don’t target every gentleman I meet for debauchery.”
“I know, okay? I messed up, and I’m sorry.”
Jacques took a more dominant posture. “You misinterpreted something.”
“I’d rather not say. Would you settle for groveling? Please?”
“Non.”
“Shit. Fine. He’s cute. You’d noticed. And he’s noticed you noticed. Satisfied?”
Jacques was intrigued all over again. “You think Harrison’s cute?”

Haa Sinder stepped in it slightly, but then again, Jacques you do flirt with everyone you can and charm everyone else (that’s why Book 6 could happen!), so its not out of the realm of possibility that you’d have two or three different motives for bringing Harrison in…

🤣🤣 These two!! Like Jacques didn’t notice! He just doesn’t like to be called out on it. Sinder poked a bit too hard.
