Jacques patiently repeated, “For the children.”

“Not for yourself?”

Jacques was taken aback. “What gave you that idea?”

Sinder raised a finger but hesitated. “I don’t think I can answer that without insulting one of you. Or both of you.”

“I don’t target every gentleman I meet for debauchery.”

“I know, okay? I messed up, and I’m sorry.”

Jacques took a more dominant posture. “You misinterpreted something.”

“I’d rather not say. Would you settle for groveling? Please?”

Non.”

“Shit. Fine. He’s cute. You’d noticed. And he’s noticed you noticed. Satisfied?”

Jacques was intrigued all over again. “You think Harrison’s cute?”
