Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the glad one.

Catch and Release
“Ah, ah!” Jacques kept his tone light. “Far too soon for me to be caught. I shall require a head start. And probably several second chances. Do wolves subscribe to a catch-and-release philosophy?”
Sonnet murmured, “I would let you go if it meant I could catch you again.”
“Then we’ll cut blazes along formerly empty trails. All traditions begin somewhere.” Jacques wrapped his arms as far as they’d go around broad shoulders. “Tonight, you can create your pack’s lore.”
“You’re just so….” Sonnet’s voice caught, and he busied himself nuzzling at Jacques’ hair before finally murmuring, “I’m glad it’s you.”

Beginning to think that this is something Jacque needs almost as much as Sonnet. He may not know it yet, but this is good for both of them.
