They gossiped about cat customs. Consorts were bold about things that made Sonnet blush, but his curiosity doubled. “They don’t mind? I would mind.”

Naturellement. Because wolves. But if you need more in the way of closeness, cats make good companions. Deece, for instance.”

“Oh, I couldn’t!”

“He’s a denmate. And a tribute.”

Sonnet wilted. “Are you putting me off?”

“Lord, no. I’m reminding a lone wolf that he isn’t so alone. Let us care for you.”

His posture shifted. “If it’s you….”

“Feel free to presume at any time.”

Sonnet still hesitated. “Because you don’t mind.”

“Because I care.”

    It is a real pleasure to follow Sonnet and Jacques’ adventure…! I love how Jacques became more and more confident along all of this story!
    I also loved to see more Sonnet, she is dear to my heart!
