Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the ones who are definitely in on it.

Baggage Claim
Jacques lifted the bulging carpet bag. “His lordship placed a sigil hereabouts. Can you banish it?”
Sonnet searched his face, extended a finger, and gasped.
“Gone?”
“Vanished.” Sonnet’s nostrils were as wide as her eyes. “What have you done?”
“Packed for the trip.”
Her fingers trembled as she unbuckled the fastenings and eased open the bag. Vanya gurgled and kicked. “You can’t pack a baby!”
“I can,” argued Jacques. “I did!”
“But… but this is kidnapping!”
“Non. This is trust. He’s coming with Sansa’s blessing. Your claim’s the surest sure thing. Sentinel and Rampant will be so proud of you.

I wanted to be surprised that Jacques packed a baby, but I’ll be honest I’m not. Gave me a mind to reread The Importance of Being Earnest though.

Hi, I need help! I really appreciate your writing and look forward to your publications. Unfortunately, I’m just getting more and more lost trying to follow LMM. Can you do a “story so far” type of post? Or, if possible, some idea when the story will be published, and I’ll just wait until then to read the rest? I like the peeks at Jacques and I look forward to the snippets but I’ve gotten lost on the way. Thanks!

LMM is very slice-of-life, behind-the-scenes at Stately House, all from Jacques perspective. There’s no PLOT, per se, just moments & small story arcs. If you want to re-read from the beginning, links are available at the end of each chapter, and I recently added links for each section of LMM on my blog’s pinned post. (Part 1 happens right after Bk1, Part 2 skips to what’s going on w/ Jacques while Bk2 is happening, etc.)
The events seem incidental, but I am me. SO there are references to the Saga & Songs, some cameos, and a fair bit of foreshadowing that’ll make more sense later. While LMM is optional reading, it’ll enrich your understanding. Author recommended. ::twinkle::
I expect to publish a finished book in 2023. Actual release date is yet to be determined.

Thank you! I can make sense of it as mini-peeks into Jacques’ life and let go of the need (my assumption) of a “plot”. I will relax…
