LMM 387: Worn Out

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the fraught one.

Worn Out

After a sleepless night, Jacques was more than ready to join Lapis. Hisoka yielded his place with a grateful smile, and Jacques ferried away a jumble of paperbacks and biscuit tins.

Pulling a pliant Lapis into his arms, he was mildly surprised when the dragon crooned and nuzzled his neck. Already waking?

“Let’s have a little lie-in, shall we?” Jacques begged.

Lashes fluttered, and Lapis murmured, “Why so fraught? Are we out of biscuits?”

“I’ve worn myself out. Shelter me?”

Lapis pulled the comforter up over their heads. “I’ll hold them off if you’ll hold me.”

Balance achieved, both slept.
