LMM 378: Set Straight

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one whose stories always end well.

Set Straight

Canarian beckoned, so Jacques slid into hot water at his side. They’d always gotten on, due in part to a mutual appreciation for the fashion, theater, Hisoka, crossers, and Catalan. Not necessarily in that order.

Jacques tensed when Canary pulled him closer. “Nonny will misunderstand.”

“Cat will set him straight.”

“Are you trying to be ironic?”

“Trust us.” Canary purred comfortingly. “We’ll win Nonny over.”

“One look, and he’ll throw a tantrum because your hands are on me.”

“And Cat will tell him to take a longer look, to learn how you like to be handled.”

“That’s optimistic.”

“That’s cats.”

  2. I think it’s nice Canary is looking after Jacques this way, because otherwise it could be very easy for Jacques to start to withdraw from comfort and bonds he needs too to try and prevent misunderstandings for Nonny. ♡
