Correction

“You’re taking his side?”

Lord, why was everything so damnably monumental when you were fifteen?

Jacques shifted into a dominant posture, but he also wrapped his arm around Nonny, keeping him from bolting. “I won’t command trust or peace, but I will insist upon courtesy. Apologize.”

“Sorry,” he mumbled to the floor.

Non. That’s not how cats apologize.”

“I’m not a cat,” Nonny muttered.

Catalan looked on, no trace of teasing or triumph in his gaze. He was definitely in dad mode, and he was backing up Jacques.

“Right, then,” chimed in Michael. “Shall we take this to the baths?”
