Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the ones who are suited to their role.

The Fathers Are Strong
The cabal barely noticed the arrival of tea, let alone that Argent brought it. Very foxy.
While he poured, Jacques coaxed for more details about the attempted theft of the Orchid Saddle.
“ …the trove is quite near the hatchery,” Trystholm fretted. “Six dragonlings and an egg!”
“Six?” interrupted Lord Deeptrove. “Ha-eun was carrying twins?”
Jacques tried not to roll his eyes as eight chuffed-to-bits dragons veered off topic. Again.
It hadn’t taken long to sort out why the dragon lords were in a furor. They weren’t chest-thumping brutes or greedy hoarders. They were doting dads, afraid for their children.

I’ll bet dragon family trees are…. challenging to keep track of!
Also, whilst I’m warming up to this prismatic family, I still think they underestimate Lapis 🥰

I love this deeply. XD (Look, my OC hatches in 11 NS, this is all FASCINATING knowledge of what is happening leading up to her egg. ALSO CONFIRMATION THAT SHE WOULD BE IN AN EGG!!!) And the hatchery, so all the dragonlings are raised together no matter their mothers, that is friggin’ adorable.

… as with ALL the Amaranthine clans, “traditionalists” are generally born in animal form … but carrying in speaking form is preferred by many. And necessary when one’s bonded is an imp. (The twins certainly didn’t hatch from a single egg.)

Ahhh…So Sweet! I love the visual of all the proud papas. Chuffed is just a perfect word to describe them. I can just see them all fluting and purring.
