Chapter 277: Wavering

When the time came to leave, Sango insisted on carrying Kagome to Kaede’s village on Kirara.

At this show of sisterly solidarity, Inuyasha’s brows knit, and his nose worked overtime. But he kept quiet. Kagome figured he understood better than the others. He’d met her family. He’d seen her world. He knew what she was giving up.

Sesshoumaru’s stripes wavered through a whole fresco of icy pastels.

Uneasy mint.

Wary peach.

Yearning lavender.

Piteous gray.

These powder-pale hues kept leeching to white, and Kagome decided that this pointed to Sesshoumaru’s confusion. He wasn’t sure what to feel.
