Chapter 278: Casual

Inuyasha sat on the cloud that billowed just shy of his brother’s knees. They skimmed along in Kirara’s wake. Legs dangling, he was enjoying the novelty of getting around effortlessly.

Leaning into Sesshoumaru’s leg, Inuyasha said, “About her family. Should I… umm… speak for you?”

“What would you say?”

A fair question. “That you’re less of a bastard than you used to be?”

That earned him an ear tweak. Casual. Gentle. Maybe even fond.

“Last time she went,” he ventured. “I remember how you were.”

“Hnn.”

“Will it happen again?”

Sesshoumaru scratched distractedly at Inuyasha’s ear and finally admitted, “Hnn.”

  2. Yes, Inuyasha, you should go in your brother’s stead, and speak to them as his proxy, if only for a short while. ‘Cuz we all know what a *fretting pout of a puppy* your brother turns into when Kagome’s gone. 😛
