Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who’s a mentor now.

Must Be Catching
Michael had never once asked for it, but that didn’t stop Jacques from bringing the man tea at appropriate intervals. Sometimes, they shared the pot. Michael was generous like that.
Voices carried, and Jacques hesitated.
However, Michael waved him forward. “Jacques! Just the person. Keep Kurogi-kun company while I fetch a book?”
“Since when do you own a laptop?”
“Came with the apprenticeship!” Michael was all smiles. “Back in a tick.”
“Mentorship must be catching.” Jacques eased into camera range. “Who are you, then?”
A young man was sketching looping patterns in midair. “Hi, Jacques! My friends call me Jiminy.”

Oh, oh, oh, more worlds (books!) coming together 😁
I’m always just a tad envious that Jiminy was adopted by the wolves 🐺 and love reading more about him!
