Early morning found Jacques returning to Randolla’s. “You’ll understand clothes’ appeal if they’re properly fitted.”
“I have clothes.”
“Your usual things are fine for usual things. But for official things, we’ll splurge.”
“On…?”
“Something tasteful. Something appropriate. I’m partial to greens, but blues would better bring out your eyes.” Inspiration struck. “I wonder, would it be too outré for me to establish my own clan colors?”
Nonny snorted. “Clan Smythe?”
“Perhaps not. But we can still employ color.”
“For what?” Nonny skidded on some ice and swore under his breath.
Tucking the kid’s arm through his, Jacques promised, “You’ll see.”

It’s beginning to look like he will need to start his own clan. Perhaps he can have felt or rubber hoof covers that will keep him from slipping. They make these for horse hooves and they work very well. You just Velcro them on.

Surely Uncle Jackie can help design a fashionable yet comfortable monk-strap shoe: buckled strap over the pastern, no velcro 😉 When Nonny is ready to branch out, he’ll have many options in terms of platforms and heels. People pay good money to achieve the tippy-toe look–Nonny’s natural attributes give him an advantage there!
