Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the cornered one.

If You Can’t Beat Them
“Oi, Jacques.”
He snapped awake. Nonny was grinning down at him.
“I figured out why you never bathe alone. You’d drown.”
Jacques sloshed upright and murmured, “Apologies.”
“For sleeping through your promise?”
“Lord. Sorry. Been a long day.”
He stuck to essentials, shimmying into silk, tousling oil into his curls, and patting on moisturizer. Turning from the mirror, he met Nonny’s baffled stare.
“Want some? It’s never too early to begin caring for your complexion.”
“Not bloody likely.”
Jacques advanced. “Trust your mentor!”
Nonny swore softly, but he submitted to a careless smear.
Which brought something unexpected to Jacques’ attention.

That is just too funny! I think Jacques regimen has already outpaced mine. I’m good with moisturizer, you gotta be special to get more than that. Wait! Does Nonny have a beard? This is wonderful! ❤️❤️
