Back straight, face forward, Inuyasha led the way astride Shishi.
Sesshoumaru beckoned to Kagome. “I will carry you.”
“I can walk,” she protested.
“Greater speed is called for.”
“Is there danger nearby?”
“No threat exceeds the one I pose.” Sesshoumaru pulled aside his abundance of hair. “Come.”
Kagome was used to being carried, but this was a first. As she clambered and clung, she mumbled, “Is this all right?”
“Hnn. This is right.”
“I’m not… too heavy?”
Hands slid under her thighs, locking her into place. “I am strong. You saw to that.”
Back straight, face forward, Sesshoumaru whisked ahead.

Sesshoumaru’s last comment was VERY interesting and could be taken in so many different ways; exactly HOW did Kagome make him strong? And for him to acknowledge it…WOW! Just…WOW!!!!
