Chapter 251: Upward

He eased her down and patiently rearranged her limbs across his truncated ones, then gazed off over the meadow. Slowly, his stripes cooled to a serene turquoise.

“What is this?” Kagome ventured.

“Pleasant.”

“But… why?”

“I told you. I am bringing your wish into alignment.”

“You did say that, but what did you… mean… erm… Sesshoumaru-sama?”

He’d laid his palm across her throat and was smoothing upward. The rise included no scrape of claws to test her nerve, but he firmly, gently forced her head back. In order to kiss her nose.
