Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the one who is trusted.

Come to the Point
Argent considered Jacques a good judge of people, and Jacques liked to think that Argent was entirely correct. Unless neckties were involved. Then Jacques’ opinion was really the only one that mattered.
So he placed an immediate call. “Michael? Be a dear and put Argent on.”
While he waited, Jacques enjoyed a hint of drama—Paltry breezing about the tearoom while Churlish’s silver-soft gaze followed him.
“Miss me?” Sonnet couldn’t overhear Argent’s end of the exchange. Security measure.
“You could stand to show a little enthusiasm.”
“Yes, I am coming to a point.”
“Lord. Fine. May I hire a wolf?”
