“But will he accept a saddle?” Inuyasha’s brow creased. “Shishi was chained. Not sure I’d welcome a strap after that.”
“He will not deny us.” And because Kagome was watching him so closely, Sesshoumaru said, “You will ride.”
“Erm … now?” She looked to Shishi. “Could I really?”
“You mean you haven’t?” asked Inuyasha.
“He belongs to Sesshoumaru-sama.”
Inuyasha snorted. “Pretty sure you belong to each other.”
Kohaku relayed, “Shishi is more than willing.”
Sesshoumaru savored Kagome’s brightening scent. Such sunny delight. He wanted a larger share. “I will ride, as well.”

I am totally on board with this. World of Warcraft actually managed to do a really good version of the Lion Dog guardian thing, but it’s an animated stone statue.
