Canarian opened a room dominated by another fireplace, this one deep and well-banked. “Of all the hearths within Uncle’s home, this is perhaps the truest. Few see it.”
Jacques understood the compliment and adjusted his posture accordingly. “When’s Hisoka due?”
“He’ll be here as soon as this is where he’s needed most.”
“Magnifique.” Touching the valise at his side, Jacques said, “I’ll create the necessity, and he shall appear.”
Canarian’s brows arched. “Will he, now?”
“Never fails.” Jacques crossed to the bed and began unpacking paperbacks, chocolates, and a biscuit tin. “Is there hot water?”
“For tea?”
“Non. A bath.”
