Chapter 212: Dubious
Not until Kagome returned to the riverbank did Sesshoumaru roll up his sleeve and fish her stone from the river. It was perfect.
“This pleases you?” he asked dubiously.
“Yes! It’s the shape I’ve been looking for.”
“Hnn.” Sesshoumaru hung in midair. If his pantlegs hadn’t been pinned up, the illusion of standing would have been near-perfect.
“Don’t tire yourself,” she urged.
His brow quirked. “Do not endanger yourself.”
Kagome studied his stripes, which had flamed into a rich teal. She’d have to make a note in her journal. That friendly blue mixed with uneasy green probably translated as concern.

Wonderful. I long for this kind of concern from my husband. It may even be there, he just does not know how to show me.

It’s almost a double edged comment…concern or a haughty “how dare you think I could be tired” eyebrow…🤣🤣🤣 Such a fun chapter.

I love how much you can convey in so few words, and your writing has definitely gotten clearer and more expressive as your drabble series’ have gone on.
Beautiful work and I can’t wait to read more!
