Chapter 208: Proud
Sesshoumaru rode Shishi, who radiated pride over his new responsibility. Kohaku led them along quiet woodland paths. They encountered no humans. Neither were they troubled by youkai. If not for their destination, Sesshoumaru might have been able to relax.
All the while, Kagome picked flowers.
It was unsettling.
It was Rin’s pastime.
Suddenly, Kagome touched his knee. “What’s wrong?”
Sesshoumaru’s gaze dropped to her bouquet.
“These are a human graveside tradition: flowers, incense, and prayers.”
It wasn’t so different from youkai custom.
It still left him miserable.
“Usually, there’s also an offering of food.” Kagome softly asked, “Could you hunt?”

So am I obtuse…Sesshoumaru hasn’t made ”his” part of the wish yet? Am I completely going down the wrong path?

Nah. The wish happened way back in Ch 35.

No, I do realize that the wish(es) were made–the symbolic nature of the jewel splitting into two pieces etc. What I am not understanding is their level of awareness of what they ”actually” wished for. As always, I am with you until the end.

Oh my heart. This is going to be hard for him. But I think they will help each other get through this.
