Yet he was suspicious of the Shikon-no-Tama’s intentions. A tainted, traitorous existence whose unmaking should have become the wisher’s undoing.
Had the Jewel tried to punish them? Dooming him to attachments when he’d craved solitude and death. Choosing companions as constant reminders of his failure. Setting him up for fresh grief when their fleeting lifespans ended.
Wait.
Wouldn’t the Jewel bequeath a lasting torment?
Now, that was intriguing.
