Chapter 165: Blissful
Kagome praised Shishi, who endured the sting of antiseptic spray and antibiotic ointment. When Kohaku returned, he helped her wind gauze.
“Is he saying anything?” Kagome asked.
“I think he is beyond words.”
They combed Shishi’s drying fur until he fell asleep. Kohaku curled between his forepaws, and Kagome dozed against his flank.
She woke when Shippo dragged a blanket over her.
Their clearing was suddenly crowded. Cooking smells. Conversation. Masa was sharing stories of other graves they’d dug and decorated. Losses and legacies they’d been forced to leave behind.
“Us, too.” Inuyasha gruffly called, “Oi, Miroku. Do that thing?”

I love that the camp is moving around them as they rest and just which “thing” is Miroku going to do? He has a few up his sleeve.
