LMM 132: Meeting the Family

Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the cornered one.

“Will you be joining us?” Jacques challenged.

“Also arrangeable.” Gingko’s smile widened. “I’ll bring stuff. Can you get along without a translator?”

Suuzu lifted a hand. “I am fluent.”

“Then you’re set.”

“Ojisan?” Akira stood with head cocked, eyes bright.

“He asks if you are his uncle,” translated Suuzu, whose hands settled on Akira’s shoulders, clearly anxious to maintain his monopoly.

“Yes. I am his sister’s son’s mother’s husband’s cousin.” And because it only seemed polite, he added, “May I touch your boy?”
