Kagome marveled. This youkai was bigger than Kirara, but not by much. He was canine, but he lacked Sesshoumaru’s elegant lines. She explored with extreme care. Stocky, with big paws and a square muzzle. Although his pelt hung from his bones, it was a handsome color that she’d sacrifice all her shampoo to restore. Especially once she made sense of the messy coils that formed his ruff.
“You’re a lion-dog!”
“I think you’re onto something,” said Inuyasha. “Never seen a living one before. Only statues.”
Struck by inspiration, she looked into intelligent eyes and asked, “May I call you Shishi?”

Crying… Shishi Liondog…
I play World of Warcraft, and one of the mounts is the Liondog. Obviously not called that, but something more traditional I think. It is a stone statue mount, but it’s still one of my favorites.
I love it.
