Chapter 147: Impatient
Miroku sat up a little straighter. “May I ask why?”
Sesshoumaru’s eyebrow arched.
Kagome studied the hue of his stripes. Impatient. Interested. But not annoyed.
Inuyasha grumbled something, and Miroku backpedaled. “Certainly, Sesshoumaru-sama.”
With a smile to acknowledge the villagers in his audience, he spun out a simplified version of their history with the Jewel.
Sesshoumaru cut in. “What are the Four Souls?”
“Ah, yes!” Miroku raised four fingers. “The Shikon-no-Tama was said to embody four attributes. Courage. Friendship. Wisdom. Love.”
Old news. Kagome had memorized these details long ago.
But all color faded from Sesshoumaru’s markings. Shock? Or… recognition?
