Kohaku mapped a route that would be easier on an expectant mother and small children, and they strolled through sloping meadows filled with flowers. All very lovely.

Sango found a cave, a taijiya hunting shelter. With a fire crackling, it was comfortable, if crowded.
Kagome’s attention kept straying to Sesshoumaru, mostly because he was staring. Every time their gazes met, his markings jumped to the mysterious new color.
He wasn’t laughing at her, nor was he crying inside. Not upset. Not sick.
“Monk.”
Miroku started. “Yes, Sesshoumaru-sama.”
“Tell me what you know of the Shikon-no-Tama.”
