Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially the ready one.

Life Choices
Jacques wasn’t a respected kind of chap. He wasn’t even a respectable one. His life choices always triggered scandals. What would dear Maman say if she found out an Amaranthine intended to claim him?
“Will it hurt?” he asked a little breathlessly.
Argent snorted. “I do not even want to know what you are imagining.”
A capricious giggle was out before Jacques could stop it. “Disappoint me gently.”
“I wish to become pactmates.”
Argent’s gravity had a sobering effect. He expected Jacques to make a life choice. To choose him.
How queer. Jacques had never felt this way before—undeserving.

The choice was already made. Now it’s just a formality to point it out. Poor sweet Jacques 🙂
