“Safe, safe,” chanted Tsumiko, whose push was both persuasion and permission.

Very sweet, except that she was pushing Jacques toward a three-story drop.

“Your hand,” ordered Argent from across the sill.

“Yes, my lord.” Jacques tried not to look down as he threw a leg over. “Why are you doing this?”

Argent smirked. “It is my way.”

Jacques forced himself to move, ignoring self-preservation, relying heavily on Tsumiko’s goodness. Lord. Why was Argent so good at feeding his frustration?

“Are you punishing me?”

“Idiot boy.” With one tug, Argent took Jacques’ life into his hands. “I am rewarding your trust.”
