Uncles and Nephews

Jacques supposed he was there to translate. Or because of the arrangement with Gilen’s human father. An honorary uncle. Yes. Quite.

“ … try it with Deece.” After a lengthy pause, Hisoka’s hands stilled. “Jacques?”

“S-sir?”

Sensei will do. Are you all right?”

Jacques gripped his knees. “This is highly irregular.”

“Gilen needs to learn this part of his heritage.” Hisoka smiled charmingly. “Nephews emulating uncles. What could be more natural?”

Jacques shot a pleading look at Deece, who’d submitted to Gilen’s tentative kneading with purring patience.

And so the lesson continued apace, with Hisoka slipping effortlessly into French. The beast.
