Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially for the one who’s been through a lot.

What’s Yours Is Mine
“Happiness,” Argent repeated thoughtfully. “You have always been the sort who finds it easily.”
Once again, Jacques suspected a compliment. Perhaps even a touch of envy. “Add it to my job description.”
The fox’s lips quirked. “I hardly think it necessary to formalize a self-indulgent pursuit.”
Jacques didn’t like being so thoroughly misunderstood. But maybe it was understandable. What little information he’d gleaned about Argent pointed to enough unhappiness to span hundreds of lifetimes.
“You have it backward, my lord.” Catching Argent’s hand, Jacques pressed his forehead to his inside wrist. “The happiness I most want to find is yours.”

He may be growing too, but I feel it’s like we are having the chance to know him better (beyond his flirting surface, I mean)
