Intended Use

“Trade names?” asked Jacques.

Mark helpfully explained, “An exchange of names—like the giving of a nickname—signifies the beginning of a bond. Posy is a good friend to have.”

Jacques turned to Gilen. “Should we befriend the brute, since he isn’t so terrible?”

The boy paused in licking his fingers, having finished all the canapes within reach. But his attention was nowhere near Hisoka.

An amused drawl came from behind. “Is star wine intended for humans?”

Jacques staggered forward and pressed a finger to Lapis’s mouth. “Do not say it isn’t,” he commanded fiercely. “I won’t believe such heresy.”
