Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially for the one who isn’t even trying to be insulting.

Valor circled both arms. “A cask.”
Sufficient inducement to descend. Perhaps he could make canapes. And it was never too late for chocolate. “Tell me another name in doggish.”
“I have a sister named Rampant.”
Jacques struck a pose like the rampant lion of heraldry. “Raoh.”
Valor’s smile broadened. “My younger brother is Eloquence.”
“Poor sod. Want me to call you something more sensible?”
“I would be honored.” Valor offered his palms. “Give me a nickname as a sign of our friendship, and I will both take it to my heart and answer to your call.”
