Claimer: I do hereby claim all rights and responsibility for the characters in this series of vignettes because the Amaranthine Saga is mine. (Which means I should probably behave myself since anything I say or do could be taken as canon.) Indulge the lot of us, especially for the one who asserts his dominance.

Done a Runner
Argent appeared suddenly, as if he’d been leaning against the door this whole time. He relieved Adoona-soh of a tawny-tailed toddler who hissed and bared tiny fangs. “Desist,” he chided.
Like that would help.
She went limp.
Touché.
Whatever Argent had done, it had the opposite effect on Nonny. “Lemme go.” The boy strained away. “I’m stronger than you.”
Jacques had no trouble grasping the underlying threat, and he didn’t fancy a hoof to the vitals. But the kid was quaking. So Jacques started walking. Away.
“Smythe?”
Lengthening his stride, Jacques made the corner of the house and kept running.
